We had a project at musicology where we used Arduino boards too. Although, when we made our own gadgets, we chose Phidgets instead. A bit more costly, but way more versatile :-)

I was drooling over the RFID sheet but too much money. But you should have seen how my ears perked when he mentioned connecting a nunchuck to an Arduino! Oh the possibilities! (Of course, not having to destroy any of my nunchucks would be a plus... apparently there's a plug you can use to have it talk to your serial port.

yeap, I can see that. Arduinos are great for prototyping, particularly the Diecimilia (the minis and the lilypads are the cutest tiny little things, though), and can be made in whatever form you want but when you are talking of a one of instance...

Though I see you can program the Phidgets with more versatile languages: how much memory does it handle? Standard Arduinos only come with 1K and I'm having trouble imagining porting C++ for 1K memory...
